HI all, another challenge is upon us and I decided to use a "photo stamp" . I stamped on glossy paper and touched up wih copics to give it an old feel.. I then used scraps that I had laying around and put to use the beaded oval from spellbinder. Finished it all off with some misting of Tattered Angels Spray. Awesome weekend

I had an incredible weekend , Friday , all day was cropping . I stayed late into the night cropping and talking . The last hours were spent with a lovely lady named Stacy , everyone else had left, we were the lone "night owls". Saturday it started all over again , just as pleasant as the day before but with a much more full house. More great ladies showed up and shared their individual talents and resources. Food and more food along with football. I got my Christmas cards just about finished as well as a project or two completed. All in all it was a relaxing weekend with memorable ladies.

Merry Christmas from under the sea

The most recent Dutch Dare card challenge asks that we choose from an assortment of provided digis, to complete the pearls and swirls challenge. Well , I decided to do the mermaid in holiday colors just to show you that a stamp doesn't have to have a singular purpose ie.,, mermaid for a summer card. This little gal is bringing joy from the sea!  Fished up from over at The Stamping Boutique and incorporated into this weeks' design ,here she is. I hope you like her and she encourages you to play along with us @Dutch Dare.

Monday night class

I had an amazing class tonight , 33 card kits made and 33 card kits sold. Yes , that means there were as many people at the class. Wow, it was exhausting but a lot of fun. I had a wonderful group of women to share the evening with, and make a card.
I appreciate them all being there , here's to another Monday like tonight.
Thanks everyone.

FALL IS HERE

Fall has definitely arrived ( in my cards), the following is my new card for Dutch Dare using sweet and sassy stamps. I colored the pumpkin patch with prismacolor pencils and used kraft paper and scraps that I had. The little pumpkins on the side border are from a stamp -LUNI.
This is a sketch challenge, which I like because it kind of takes the thinking out of the picture. All you have to do is find paper and a stamp.
Please join in with us over at Dutch Dare and let us see what marvelous creation you can concoct.
Thanks for stopping by , please feel free to comment.

cards cards and more cards

I have had an awesome weekend. My downstairs is 90% complete, the floors and kitchen look great. It looks like a new house . Removing the dropped ceiling in the kitchen and cabinets opened the downstairs up. and having a uniform floor through most of the first floor made a great difference. So while they were finishing up , i made a handful of cards and prepped for my class. It feels good to get something done in my craft room .Here is a little of what I did. These are stamps from http://www.tayloredexpressions.com/

SUMMER FUN

Here's another card for http://www.dutchdare-cardchallenges.blogspot.com/. The theme for this one was Summer Fun. My granddaughter was over for the weekend and had a blast with a red umbrella and the rain (she had on only a pair of shorts over her diaper, so for decency sake :) my stamp is clothed hahaha). She is also obsessed with ducks , baby ducks to be exact, we have a pond that has a family of ducks which she has named ,mama duck, baby duck and dadda duck. Anyway , with that said, this digi " who needs an umbrella " by di's digis, says it all about summer for me (so far ).I used an older paper from memory box, ribbon, glossy accents, colored pencils, metal dots and metal flowers by coorbok, spellbinders' "lacy squares" and paper pieced the umbrella. Hope you like it.

A working Saturday

I have to work Saturday morning, so my DT projects have to wait till Sunday to be worked on. I did however finish work on the challenge at Dutch Dare card challenge . I will have to post it tomorrow sometime.
I spent today cleaning and ironing ( yes , I iron . Approximately 15 shirts, several slacks and capris and blouses.) and a little card making. Then my husband and I went to look for deck furniture, a recent hail storm destroyed so much property, and deck furniture was one of them. So I have full coverage replacement insurance and went and replaced it. Next is the roof, gutters, some windows, the deck, garage door and vents on the roof.
I should be back tomorrow or Sunday , till then happy 4th to all my American friends, enjoy your weekend to all.
Smiles,
Lisa

Hello

Hi ,

I have had my granddaughter at the house since Friday afternoon, her mom's been here some of the time ,but I had her overnight. This was her first night in a " big girl " bed, so I had to fall asleep with her for her to stay in bed. So a little while later after she fell SOUND asleep, I inched my way down to the bottom of the bed and very quietly tiptoed my way across the room and as gently as I could opened the door, and hooray she stayed asleep. She went down around 11:00p and awoke at the ungodly hour of 4:30am and wanted to eat. So like a good MaMaw I went downstairs with her and made cherry topped waffles and strawberry milk. 2hrs later we were back in my bed till around 10:00am.
So now I am working on projects that are due for the DTs that I am part of.

paper piecing w/ Our Craft Lounge OCL64

Using The Girls Paperie "Vintage Whimsy" Our Craft Lounge  " Anna Mae",glossy accents, prima pearls and circle punches.

Another Monday rears it's ugly head.

As you can surmise I am not a fan of Mondays, that is until I get to work. I actually enjoy working ( I know , how weird is that?) , get to do what I like. I share with other like minded individuals my love of creating something pretty and unique out of paper goods. Mondays are when I have a card class , and spend the evening with many lovely ladies.
Yesterday I spent the day cleaning my scrap room ( I share the room with a budding crafter, my 2 year old granddaughter), getting rid of chalk fingerprints and ink smears from various surfaces, and getting rid of many colored papers that were repeatedly printed off my Internet connected printer. Yes, my gdaughter can work a printer and knows the Disney website.

After the redding up was complete, I began the task of learning how to create flowers from various dies and punches, this is what I came up with.
The rose punch was made using the Mcgill punches and the sunflower was made with the Die-Namics sunflower die.The sunflower was cut from yellow paper and then colored using Tim Holtz distress inks.

Just a little bit of what I enjoy doing , hope you enjoy looking.

After doing a little bit of alot of different crafts I have gone back to what I have always loved. I enjoy coloring , drawing and designing pictures. And thanks to the love and (prodding) of my DH, I am where I belong and am more happy .
