Surprise Inks

Hello! It's a beautiful day here in Dayton Ohio. If there was perfect weather it would be today. Anyhoo, let's get to checking out my newest creations using these marvelous Cloud 9 inks.

They are a versatile ink consisting of Interference, Color Shifting and Metallics.

Now these have been out for a while, but so many of my fellow crafters are unaware of their unique qualities OR how to use them. So, I am bringing you a peek at some of the techniques I used. (I have found that the Tim Holtz blending tool works best for me)

Cloud 9 inks are a great addition to your ink collection!

Using a brayer and your ink pad, spread the color lightly over the embossed surface to achieve this surprise shimmer and elevate your card look.

With this card I used the Blue Knight stamp "Star Gazing Deer" on top of a background blended with Cloud 9 Inks then splattered with diluted white watercolor paint.

Boo!  The moon was stenciled with the awesome Tim Holtz Moon Mask , it comes with 3 different sized moons. These Inks show as different shimmers on black and white.

(2 colors for the price of one ink pad, How great is that!!)

This beautiful moody background card was also done using a blending of Cloud 9 inks and a Blue Knight Stamp Tall Pines.

Lastly, I have for you a "mistake".  Here's the story...
My best friend and I were having a craft day together to play with these inks, we smooshed the inks on a glass mat and sprayed them with alcohol then dabbed the paper onto the misted colors. It did not turn out as planned so it was set to the side, (disappointed with the result), however I looked at it again and thought "I can salvage that" so I flipped it around a few times and saw a dusky sky and had the perfect stamp for it. Voila! A mistake (or ugly ink smooshing) made useful.
And to think I was going to throw that background away!!

Please leave a comment or question
and I will get back to you, thank you for visiting!
